We will not fight Israel. Iran is reversing support for Gaza
The Iranian authorities announced their rejection of the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict outside the Gaza Strip, and informed the United States through joint diplomatic channels of their unwillingness to escalate the situation, in a message that: We will not fight Israel in support of Gaza.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdulhian revealed that talks between Iran and the United States had taken place over the past 40 days through the American section of the Swiss Embassy in Tehran.
In previous statements, Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations confirmed that it would not engage in direct conflict with Israel unless Iran was attacked by Tel Aviv.
This comes in the context of heightened tensions in the region, where Iran’s foreign minister warned earlier that in the event of Israel’s continued bombing of Gaza, all parties in the region would be ready to escalate, according to Iran’s Fars agency.
Iran’s reversal of direct support for Palestine through the Hamas resistance group is due to the US recently agreeing to allow Iraq to transfer $10 billion in frozen Iranian assets to Iran’s accounts in Europe and Oman days ago by extending Baghdad’s exemption from Tehran sanctions.
