Al-Burhan affirms Sudan’s keenness to develop its relations with Syria
President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan has praised the advanced level of bilateral relations between Sudan and Syria, stressing Sudan’s keenness to enhance and develop horizons of joint cooperation, in a way that serves the common interests of the peoples of the two countries.
This came when Al-Burhan received in his office the Chargé d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Khartoum, Bishr Al-Shaar, who briefed him on the overall humanitarian situation in Syria after the earthquake disaster that struck large parts of Syria, affirming continuation of humanitarian support for the brothers in Syria.
For his part, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Khartoum conveyed greetings of the Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, to the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, expressing his country’s thanks and appreciation for Sudan’s efforts to support the Syrian people in facing the earthquake disaster that hit large parts of Syria recently.
The Chargé d’Affaires said that the meeting touched on the difficult conditions that Syria is currently experiencing, the unilateral coercive sanctions imposed on Syria and the terrorist war that has extended for more than ten years.
He added that the meeting also reviewed the level of development in the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and issues of mutual concern, stressing his country’s keenness to strengthen its relations with Sudan and advance the cooperation process to serve the interests of the peoples of the two brotherly countries.
