Bank of Sudan issues a new decision on rapid support companies
The Central Bank of Sudan has issued a decision to freeze the membership of representatives of the Rapid Support Militia on the boards of financial institutions under the Bank’s control.
It is worth mentioning that there are a number of companies that follow rapid support and have an estimated number of boards of directors. A previous decision was made to confiscate the property of the rapid support militia for the Government of the Sudan.
The President of the Sovereign Council, General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, issued a decision last May to freeze the accounts of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and their companies in all banks in the Sudan and their branches abroad.
It provided that any entitlements or budgets allocated to it would not be disbursed, but that the decision would not include salaries, with the directive of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and the Bank of the Sudan to give effect to the decision.
