President of the Sovereign Council meets French envoy for the Horn of africa

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, met with his office as French Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Frederick Claffey.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of strengthening cooperation in all areas in order to achieve the interests of the two countries.

The President of the Sovereign Council briefed the French envoy on the developments in the Sudan and the progress of the process and efforts to reach an agreement leading to the formation of a transitional government leading the country to the election phase.

The meeting also addressed developments in the region and regional and international issues and ensured the importance of Sudan’s stability and its positive impact on stability in the region.

The French envoy stressed his country’s interest in achieving peace in the Sudan and supporting the political process, pointing out the importance of all parties to be flexible in order to achieve political consensus.
