Salva Kiir receives Vice-President of Sovereignty Council
The President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, received today in Juba the Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council, Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, in the presence of Presidential Adviser Tut Gatluak and Minister of the Presidency Barnaba Benjamin and the Sudanese Ambassador to Juba, Jamal Malik.
The meeting discussed the close bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance and develop them in all fields.
The Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council, Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, praised the efforts of the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, in reaching with the peace parties a roadmap to complete the revitalized peace agreement, declaring his full support for what the parties reached, noting that he had heard assurances from President Salva Kiir that the integrated forces would be graduated by the end of the current month, in preparation for the entry of a new batch in next November.
He pointed out that the two-year period agreed upon by the parties is not far away, calling for continued efforts to sustain peace so that the people of South Sudan enjoy stability, stressing continuing to follow up on the implementation of the agreement and intensifying contacts with all parties to reach a lasting and comprehensive peace.
