The Foreign Minister meets his Somali counterpart

Foreign Minister-designate Ambassador Ali Sadik Ali met with Mr. Abcher Omar Jammeh, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, on the sidelines of the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly at its seventy-seventh session.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the Sudan’s desire to help Somalia’s brothers in all spheres and reiterated the Sudan’s concern for Somalia’s security and stability. He looked forward to launching a joint initiative with Somalia to combat drought within the IGAD system.

For his part, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Somalia looked forward to the Sudan’s continued support for Somalia in various areas. He noted the important role played by the Sudan in its regional surroundings and expressed his gratitude and thanks to the leadership and people of the Sudan for their contribution to Somalia.
