The Foreign Ministry demands that the condemnation statements go beyond the stage to designate the rebel militia as a terrorist group
Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release welcoming the successive international condemnations of the rebel militia’s continuing atrocities, especially in Western Darfur State, and the number of atrocities committed by the rebel rapid support militia throughout the country.
In its statement, the Foreign Ministry also renewed its demand for the United Nations and the international community to overcome the stage of condemnation statements by designating this rebel militia as a terrorist group.
The statement reads as follows:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the successive international condemnations of the rebel militia’s continuing atrocities, particularly in Western Darfur State.
These include convictions by the European Union of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), a joint statement by the Governments of the United States, the United Kingdom and Norway, as well as documented and shocking testimonies by international media such as CCN, The New York Times and the World Estret Journal of victims of ethnic cleansing and atrocities by militias.
