TSC Member meets Volker

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Yasser Al-Atta, met today with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General of the United Nations, Head of the “UNITAMS” mission in Sudan, Volker Peretz.

Volker described, in a press statement, the meeting as fruitful, and comes within the framework of the efforts made with all Sudanese parties and the military component to find solutions to the current political crisis.

He explained that the meeting touched on the current political process in the country, the need to reach a political solution as soon as possible, and Sudan’s return to civilian rule to reach the stage of democratic transition that leads Sudan to democratic elections with civilian leadership.
