The biggest update to the WhatsApp app in years is now available on your phone!
WhatsApp announced a major change in its chat app last month, and now it’s available for everyone to use.
This dramatic change affects the number of people you can now add to the “group chat” with double the number.
This means that users can now include 512 contacts when creating a group conversation instead of 256. According to the messaging service’s working group, this enhancement was added due to comments from fans of the popular application.
To check if your WhatsApp has been updated, simply start a new group chat and then select the “Add Participants” setup at the top of the screen. And if you see 0/512, you know that you have an updated version of the app. If you still see 256 participants, be sure to update WhatsApp via Android and Apple app stores.
WhatsApp recently added two other features to its statute, including the ability to send larger files.
Until recently, users could only attach files that were 100 MB in size but have now been boosted to 2 GB. This means that it will now be easier to send videos and large files via the Watts App network.
WhatsApp explained: “You can now send files inside WhatsApp up to 2 GB each time, protected by end-to-end encryption. This is an increase from the previous limit of 100 MB and we believe that it would be useful for cooperation. “
“WhatsApp” now added reactions. This change is almost identical to other chat services like iMessage from Apple with users now able to quickly overlay emojis in each chat.
To add a reaction, simply click on the message. You will then see six on-screen reactions including thumbs up, a love heart, a laughing face, a shocked face, a sad face, gratitude and prayers.
If you want to change or delete the emoji, just click on the same message again and then make your edits.
