6 million euros from France to Ukraine for the delivery of cereals to Yemen and the Sudan
French President Emmanuel Macron seeks to provide an additional 6 million euros to deliver cereals from Ukraine to Yemen and Sudan as part of the World Food Programme (WFP).
This was on the occasion of the Holodomer, a famine caused by then Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin deliberately in Ukraine in 1932/1933.
Up to four million people died at the time.
Macron said Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine was exacerbating destabilizing the supply chain and threatening the world with a food crisis.
France has decided to stand in solidarity with these poor countries because of what Ukraine has done, Macron said.
