A disaster threatening the Earth is a study that reveals what will happen by 2100
A new scientific study has concluded that two thirds of the world’s glaciers are disappearing by the end of the century in the current trends of climate change.
The study, published Thursday in the journal Science, analyzed all of the world’s 215 thousand glaciers.
Results of the study
It concluded that these rivers melt faster than scientists thought but how quickly they melt depends on how much the planet warms.
The study explained that it was no longer possible to move to save many small glaciers because it was already too late.
The new study predicts that global warming will melt between 38 and 64 trillion metric tons of ice between now and the end of the century, adding 3.5 to 6.5 inches to sea levels.
