Putin Russia is ready to negotiate Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin said his country was ready to negotiate with all parties to the Ukrainian conflict but returned to say that Kiev and its Western backers refused to engage in talks.
“We are ready to negotiate with all parties concerned on acceptable solutions, but it is up to them not to refuse to negotiate, but to them.”
He added that his country was moving “in the right direction in Ukraine because the United States-led West is trying to divide Russia.”
“I believe that we are moving in the right direction, defending our national interests and those of our citizens and people, and we have no choice other than to protect our citizens.”
Ukraine’s War
Russia’s military operation in Ukraine began on 24 February at the behest of President Vladimir Putin.
The operation has caused Europe’s deadliest conflict since the Second World War.
Ukraine’s war led to the largest confrontation between Moscow and the West since the Cuban missile crisis in 1962.
There is still no sign of hope for the end of the two sides’ wars.
The Kremlin says it will fight until all of its goals are achieved.
For its part, Kiev says that it will not rest until the last Russian soldier withdraws from its territory, including the Russian-annexed Crimea in 2014.
