AOAD inaugurates training session on milk quality and safety in Sudan

The Director-General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) Prof. Ibrahim Adam Ahmed Al-Dukhairi h inaugurated Sunday the activities of the national training session on the quality, safety and packaging of dairy products, which the organization is implementing in collaboration with the Sudanese Agricultural Council, for the benefit of 40 graduate participants in the field of animal production in Sudan.

The five-day session will touches a number of issues including acquaintance of the participants with the concept of quality and its systems, food safety management systems (FSMS), the importance of flow charts in the manufacture of dairy products, good manufacturing practices (GMP), good health practices (GHP) for dairy products, and the introduction of the ISO 9001 system -2015 as one of the quality systems, in addition to introducing brands, visual identity of products, types of packages and their materials for dairy and dairy products, and methods of designing and manufacturing packages. Critical control points and

the hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) system in the manufacture of dairy products will also be introduced.

The importance of packaging and appropriate packaging materials for dairy and milk products are also to be tackled, in addition to introducing the microbial quality indicators of dairy products and their storage period and how to conduct subjective and objective quality assessments of dairy products through practical application of quality systems
