Minister of Finance discusses preparations for meetings of financial institutions with the French Ambassador

Dr. Djibril Ibrahim, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, said it was necessary to form a government for the remainder of the transitional government in order to obtain technical assistance and external assistance in the development and economic fields.

In his meeting with Ambassador Rajah Rabia, Ambassador of France in Khartoum, in the presence of Rafael Santos, economic adviser at the embassy, for the purpose of discussing the preparation of the annual meetings of the Monetary Fund and the World Bank, which will take place in Washington next October, where the return of international institutions is discussed.

The Minister of Finance discussed the steps of establishing the Gold Exchange through which sales and purchases are made at global prices.

In order to provide additional resources to support the national economy, he stressed the importance of obtaining French development support through a third party if there is difficulty in obtaining direct development support and stressed the issue of issuing visas to international organizations operating in the Sudan.

For its part, Ambassador Rajah Rabia of France stressed the importance of Sudanese-led initiatives involving all political components, pointing to initiatives in the political arena inside, stressing the continuation of the technical dialogue that the French government has committed itself to despite the current cessation of technical assistance.
